The Minister for Regional Development in Kosovo and the leader of the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP), Fikrim Damka, has been arrested along with his son in Prizren.

They are suspected of the criminal offenses of "Threat and Assault" and have been detained for 48 hours by the authorities.

The news was confirmed by the Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Prizren region, Shaqir Bytyqi, who announced that the arrest took place on February 9, 2025, at around 6:00 PM.

" The police have interviewed the suspects FD and FD as well as the victims, collecting evidence and other testimonies. By decision of the prosecutor, they have been detained for 48 hours in custody ," Bytyqi stated.

The arrest of Damka and her son comes after accusations from the Turkish Innovation Movement Party (YTHP), which claims that the minister has exercised physical violence against a candidate for deputy from its ranks.

Investigations into the case continue, while authorities are expected to release further details about this incident.
