James Cameron has revealed the official title for Avatar 3. Cameron has worked hard on his four Avatar sequels, and in December 2022, it paid off when the sequel Avatar: The Way of Water became one of the biggest grossers of all time.
With $2.3bn (£1.8bn) in earnings, it is two places behind 2009's first film Avatar, which is number one with $2.9bn (£2.2bn).
Cameron has three more Avatar movies to reveal over the next 10 years, with the next one arriving in December 2025.
On Friday (August 9), at D23 in California – an event that showcases upcoming Disney films – Cameron, along with the film's stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña, revealed that the film will be called Avatar: Fire and Ash.
"I came 7,000 miles from New Zealand for this," Cameron said.
“High emotional stakes. New culture and environments. You will see more of the planet Pandora than you have ever seen before. The new film is not what you expect, but it is definitely what you want," he added.
