US imposes new sanctions on Russia and North Korea

The US has imposed new sanctions on Russia and North Korea, including on North Korean generals who were sent to Russia, the US Treasury Department said in a statement, according to Sky News.

As noted by the agency, the new restrictions are aimed at Pyongyang's financial activities and military support for Moscow.

In particular, sanctions were imposed against:

North Korean banks;
North Korean generals;
DPRK officials;
Russian oil transportation companies.
North Korean banks Golden Triangle Bank and Korea Mandal Credit Bank are now under sanctions.

DPRK troops in Russia
In October, it became known that North Korea had sent its soldiers to the Kursk region of Russia to assist Moscow. They have already taken part in fighting against Ukrainian defenders.

According to the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the losses of units composed of Russian and North Korean soldiers amount to about 200 personnel.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the US Department of Defense, General Patrick Ryder, confirmed that among the DPRK soldiers sent to the Kursk region, there are killed and wounded.
