Zelenskyy: Russian bombing, vile and inhuman attacks, estimated for maximum

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has thanked Ukraine's allies for condemning the Russian attacks as a "malign and inhumane tactic" The response came after one of the deadliest days for Ukrainian citizens, where at least 22 people lost their lives and 47 others, including seven children, were wounded in heavy Russian air strikes.

Russian media reported that it launched airstrikes on Saturday night after suspending intelligence sharing between the United States and Ukraine. The United States has stepped up pressure on Ukraine to make steps toward peace talks with Russia.

The worst attacks hit the town of Dobropilla in the Donetsk region, where Russia launched two ballistic missiles, targeting rescuers who responded at the scene. Zelenskyy has called the attack an intimidation and inhuman tactic aimed at causing as much damage as possible.

Seven other people died in four towns near the front line, while a Russian drone struck a civilian worker in Kharkiv. The UN Human Rights Mission has named the attack as one of the deadliest 2025 attacks on Ukrainian civilians.

Zelenskyy has also welcomed Donald Trump's proposal to impose banking sanctions and tariffs on Russia, calling this a necessary step to reach a ceasefire and end the war. He also thanked the leaders and diplomats of partner countries for supporting and condemning the Russian attacks.

In another development, Zelenskyy announced that he and other senior Ukrainian officials would travel next week to Saudi Arabia to discuss possibilities for ending the war, meeting with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman.
