Protest in Ksamil, Zhupa: Stop the looting of properties

Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa has reacted strongly in support of the residents of Ksamil, who are protesting against the demolition of their homes in the name of strategic investments.

In a post on her Facebook profile, Zhupa accuses the government of stealing residents' properties to give them to private investors. She points out that residents have been threatened to leave their homes to make way for a strategic project.

" It is theft and a scandal to take citizens' properties, to level them with the intention of giving them to a strategic investor, " writes Zhupa, accusing the Minister of Tourism and Environment, Mirela Kumbaro, of favoring private interests in coastal areas.

The Democratic MP denounced that the government is accelerating these processes even in the last months of its mandate, promising that the Democratic Party will stand by the residents to protect their rights.

" I have denounced from the beginning the massacres being committed with this law for 'strategic thefts' and I guarantee the residents that we will stand by their side ," Zhupa concluded.

Residents of Ksamil have protested in Saranda, accusing institutions of a lack of response and demanding a halt to the demolition of their homes.
