Vokshi from Bucharest: Rama controls every power, Albania like Russia and

The DP deputy, Albana Vokshi, in the meetings she held at the PPE Congress held in Bucharest, said that in Albania, the rule of law does not work, the rule of law is not respected, fundamental rights are violated, the media is not free, corruption is widespread and the separation of powers does not exist.

Vokshi has shared with his interlocutors the concern that Albania is not a democracy, as it is tried to be sold, but an autocracy, where one person, Edi Rama, has gathered all the powers in one hand and is misusing them for personal interests while also trying to destroy the opposition and the elimination of political opponents.

In this context, Vokshi emphasized the fact that the leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, is under house arrest, without charge, aligning Albania with Russia, Belarus.

Next, she stated that the Parliament has not been functioning normally for 6 months and the opposition is denied its rights and instruments of control over the executive.

"All these undermine Albania's EU membership path," said the democratic deputy.

In the following, she states that she has requested support for greater awareness and attention towards Albania, so that it does not slip into dictatorship but continues on the path of integration into the EU.
