A tragic event has shaken the city of Durrës, where a 35-year-old man, Majlind Habibi, is accused of murdering his friend, Branko Shkoza, 33. The incident occurred on December 2, when, after a conflict over weak motives, Habibi is suspected of pushing his friend off a bridge, throwing him into a sewage canal.

What happened?
The victim, Branko Shkoza, was reported missing by his family on December 4. After several days of intensive searching, Durrës Police services found the 33-year-old's body. Initially, the incident was considered accidental, but in-depth investigations and scientific evidence revealed that it was a case of murder.

According to preliminary investigations, the conflict between the two friends occurred in a drunken state and was allegedly caused by the victim's harassment of the perpetrator's wife. During the physical confrontation, Habibi punched his friend and then pushed him off the bridge, causing his death.

Police Response
Durrës Police, within the framework of the operation codenamed “Contact”, arrested the suspected perpetrator, Majlind Habibi, and seized evidence documenting the murder. The investigative team conducted a detailed inspection of the scene, while the authorities have accompanied witnesses to help fully clarify the circumstances.

In an official statement, the police confirmed that the suspected perpetrator has admitted to part of the conflict, but the motives still remain under full investigation by the Prosecution Office at the Durrës Court of First Instance.

The victim's family members are in shock from the incident, while the perpetrator's neighbors have described him as a calm person who had not previously shown signs of violence. The incident has shocked public opinion in Durrës, bringing to attention the need for awareness of violence and conflicts that escalate fatally.
