A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana for trafficking narcotics from the US to Albania.

The young man was arrested while receiving a package of cannabis narcotics trafficked from the US.  

During the operation, approximately 3.6 kg of suspected cannabis narcotics with a high THC percentage, worth 50,000 euros, were seized.  

"The Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force of the Tirana Police Department, the Rinas Police Commissariat and the Albanian Post Transit Center Branch, as a result of investigations conducted with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has finalized another phase of the "Destination" operation, against the criminal activity of drug trafficking through the postal service.    

As a result of the police operation codenamed "Destination 5", citizen FV, 24 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested.  

This citizen was caught red-handed by the Police services, at a post office, receiving a package containing approximately 3.6 kg of suspected cannabis narcotics with a high percentage of THC, which is suspected to have been trafficked from the USA.  

"Investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity, identify and apprehend other suspected citizens involved. The procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further action ," the announcement states.
