The power of artificial intelligence, develops cancer treatment in just 30 days

Artificial intelligence has developed a treatment for an aggressive form of cancer in just 30 days and has shown it can predict a patient's survival rate using doctors' notes. University of Toronto researchers worked with Insilico Medicine to develop a potential treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using an AI (Artificial Intelligence) drug discovery platform called Pharma.

HCC is a form of liver cancer, but AI discovered a previously unknown treatment pathway and engineered a new 'hit molecule' that can bind to that target. The system, which can also predict survival rates, is the brainchild of scientists from the University of British Columbia and BC Cancer, who found the model to be 80% accurate. Artificial Intelligence is becoming the new weapon against deadly diseases, as the technology is able to analyze large amounts of data, discover patterns and predict the effects of treatments.

The team used Alpha Fold, a protein structure database powered by artificial intelligence (AI), to design and synthesize a potential drug to treat hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of primary liver cancer. The achievement was accomplished in just 30 days from target selection and only after synthesizing seven compounds.

Meanwhile, many professions may partially disappear, due to the advancement of technology, in particular due to the spread of artificial intelligence. A study these days from the prestigious American universities of Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania and that of New York, has researched the effects on employment in the US industries of the ChatGPT application, but then expanded to other areas.
