The court found her guilty of defamation against Saimir Kodra, Egla Ceno reacts!

The Tirana Court has found actress Egla Ceno guilty of the criminal offense of defamation against moderator Saimir Kodra, following her statements on "Big Brother VIP Albania".

On the program, Ceno confessed to having been sexually harassed by a moderator at work, a statement for which Kodra later filed a lawsuit in court to protect his personal and professional reputation.

The court's decision, rendered in the actress's absence, requires her to publish a rebuttal in a national media outlet, as a form of punishment for the statements considered untrue.

In a reaction to the show "Goca dhe Gra", Egla Ceno stated that she has not yet been informed of the full reasoning behind the decision, but that she will appeal it at all levels of justice.

"I do not undertake to speak about the court's decision, it has not yet been clarified. The lawyer told me that I am found guilty and am obliged to publish a rebuttal. It is not yet known on what grounds the decision was made," she said.

The actress emphasized that she stands behind every word of her statement, calling it a "high social cause" and not a personal attack on the moderator.

"I am glad that this cause is in everyone's attention, because this was my goal. I will not back down, I will continue this battle with legal means, and if I had two lives, I would use them to move it forward," said Ceno.

She added that she decided to talk about this topic precisely during her stay on "Big Brother", as "the context of the conversation and the organized topic made the moment appropriate."

"I said it on Big Brother because the conditions weren't right to talk about it before. The context was that of a conversation built on sensitive topics, and I brought my experience," she said.

In conclusion, Egla Ceno emphasized that there is no contact with Saimir Kodra and that everything further "will take place within the relevant institutions."

"I have nothing to do with the gentleman in question. I have not spoken to him or met him after the statement. What I have to say will be dealt with legally," the actress added.

The decision of the Tirana Court can be appealed to the Court of Appeal. Until the decision is fully clarified, the case remains open, while the public debate on the boundary between freedom of speech and public accusations continues to arouse reactions on social networks and public opinion.
