KESH 'steals' money from the state budget, 8 billion euros for energy
The government has allocated a fund of 8 billion lek for the Albanian Electro-Energy Corporation to buy electricity.
The decision published in the Official Journal argues that it is done with the aim of covering the liquidity of the company's operational activity.
The amount in question is part of the budget of 28 billion lek in total, of which 20 are subsidies and 8% granted by the government for electricity.
The decision comes after the approval of the new energy band where household subscribers who spend over 800 kWh will pay a new fee of 42.95 ALL/kWh. There are about 71,278 which will be affected during the winter months by the increase in energy prices.
