Enlargement Commissioner tomorrow in Tirana conference with Rama, meeting with Basha
The Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Oliver Varhelyi, will arrive in Tirana tomorrow.
It is learned that he will meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama, where they are expected to have a joint press conference. After the conference with Rama, he will meet with the leader of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha.
The visit of the senior European official in Albania comes as part of a tour in the Balkans focusing on EU assistance in dealing with the pandemic.
During his visit to the region, Varhelyi will talk to local officials about the coronavirus pandemic and EU support in this context, the EC statement said. This is his first visit after the elections in Albania.
We recall that A Varhelyi was in Tirana in October 2020 where he met with President Ilir Meta, Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha.
The Enlargement Commissioner also met with vetting executives.
