The Nobel Prize in Medicine is awarded to scientists who discovered vaccines

This year's Nobel Prize in Medicine has been awarded to scientists who discovered mRNA technology for coronavirus vaccines, Katalin KarikO and Drew Weissman.

Last year the Nobel Prize was awarded to Swedish scientist Svante Paabo "for his discoveries concerning the genome of extinct hominins and human evolution".

Winners for Physics will be announced on October 3, followed by Chemistry on October 4.

The winners of the Prize for Literature, Peace and Economic Sciences will be announced on October 5, October 6 and October 9, respectively.
