The conditions of residence permits for foreign citizens in Albania will change.

In the law submitted for public consultation, it is provided that citizens from EU and US countries must live or work in our country for at least 5 years, to become permanent citizens.

But the new changes foresee exceptions.

A foreign person from the countries of the European Union, the Schengen area or the USA who are on the verge of retirement and have contributed for at least 12 months in our country, can be provided with the permanent permit.

Relief will also be available in cases where a person who has worked for 2 years declares his inability to work.

In these cases, accidents at work or an illness that may have occurred due to the profession are included.

There will also be conditions for a residence permit for foreign students.

They will be able to move to our country for one year, while they will be allowed the right to work, respecting the maximum limit of 15 hours per week.

Foreign students will also be able to extend their stay in Albania until the end of school./oreanews/
