On charges of abuse of office, the GJKKO sentences Jorgo Goro

The Criminal Court of Kosovo has sentenced the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, to 3 years and 1 month in prison.

Due to the shortened trial, the former mayor accused of abuse of office will serve 2 years and 20 days in prison.

SPAK has accused Jorgo Goro and two former directors of the Himara Municipality, Jerasimo Bashi and Vasillaq Strakosha, of involvement in two cases of property alienation in Dhërmi.

In the first case, the prosecution alleges that Goro and his subordinates submitted forged documents for a 5,500 square meter property to state institutions, enabling its registration from state property to private ownership.

In the second case, Goro and local Izh officials are alleged to have rezoned a 5,000-square-meter agricultural property, overlapping it with state-owned property, and then sold it to investors. A building permit was then issued for a tourist complex.
