Invention patents, 85 applications in Albania in the last 5 years

In Albania, in the last five years, it has been applied in 85 cases for the protection of an invention. Official data shows that these applications were made by students, businesses or individuals.

The General Directorate of Industrial Property reports that it is the sector of patents and utility models, whose functional task is the registration of applications for industrial property objects such as invention patents and utility models, as well as the administration of the registers of these objects where they are submitted applications.

"In the last 5 years, there have been 85 applications for a national patent and 11 applications for a utility model with Albanian and foreign applicants, of which: 8 applications came from students; 19 applications came from business; 69 applications came from individuals", estimates DPPI.

But what are the areas to which these applications for patents of inventions and utility models belong more. Taken by fields, those of human, mechanical and engineering needs dominate the second, and in third place those of the electronic field.

"The national applications are mainly in the fields as follows: 16 patents are in the mechanical/engineering field; 8 patents are in the chemical/metallurgical field; 13 patents are in the electronic/electrotechnical field; 7 patents are in the field of digital technology; 5 patent is in the field of construction; 5 patents are in the pharmaceutical field; 2 patents are in the field of food industry; 22 patents are in the field of human needs " clarifies the institution.

The latter also provides details on the use models where it underlines "that during the period 2018-2022 there were a total of 11 applications for use models, of which 4 certificates for use models were issued and 7 applications are in the process of examination. Utility models are also called small patents since they constitute innovation and are the fruit of the inventor's creative work."

During the year 2022, the applications according to types are listed in the publication of the Directorate where, among others: 1) Demountable (portable) pedals with electric motor and dynamo; 2) Ecologically friendly plant support; 3) Multifunctional equipment with application element; 4) Car wash-parking and cleaning 5) Hy-point ("hygene point" 6) Reversible and foldable parallelepiped box; 7) Intelligent hand sanitizer (smart hand clean shc); 8) Ceramic wine bottle; 9) Cartridges for a pressed liquid; 10) Cut clo; 11) Bracket for anchoring outside the wall.
