The Meloni government is implementing the decree approved on March 28th, and now the Gjadri camp will also be used to detain immigrants awaiting deportation and who are no longer eligible for asylum.

Based on this decree, two ships with a total of 40 immigrants who have deportation orders are expected to arrive at the Port of Shëngjin tomorrow. The ships were expected to arrive in our country in the afternoon, but for reasons still unclear, their arrival was canceled today.

The first ship is expected to arrive at 15:00 with 15 migrants and the second around 19:00 with 25 migrants as part of the Albania-Italy agreement.

They will be temporarily accommodated in the reception center in Gjadra. This flow is expected to increase, but it is confirmed that in the future, airlines will be operated to bring the migrants.

The maximum period of stay in the Gjadri center will be 18 months. Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi has emphasized that the new policies have significantly reduced the flow of immigrants to Italy and that the centers in Albania are an effective management model.
