Following the tensions recorded during yesterday's protest by the residents of Zvërnec against the tourist project in the Portonova area, the State Police has arrested the guard of the private security company who was filmed hitting a protester. Meanwhile, by order of the General Director of Police, a disciplinary investigation has been launched for the entire chain of command of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, regarding the manner of managing the rally and the actions taken during the incident.

Meanwhile, a disciplinary investigation is underway for the entire chain of command of the Vlora Police Department.

Immediately after the publication of the footage showing an employee of a private security company punching citizen ES, the General Director of the State Police ordered the establishment of a special investigative group to analyze and investigate all actions that occurred during the rally held on 30.05.2026 by residents of the village of Zvërnec, in the place called "Portonovë".

Following the investigative actions, the identification and escort of the employee of the private security company, citizen GB, 32 years old, resident of Durrës, was carried out, who, at the end of the first investigative actions, was arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty" and "Intentional Minor Injury".

This citizen punched citizen ES and then, in collaboration with citizens AG and GV (both criminally prosecuted), forcibly pulled him towards the area reserved for the guards, causing him minor bodily injuries.

Meanwhile, in parallel with the investigative actions, the General Director has ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police to immediately launch a disciplinary investigation into the entire chain of command of the Vlora DVP, regarding the measures and management of the rally held yesterday.

The State Police is determined to respect the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens, to guarantee the safety of life and property, and to punish any police officer who neglects or abuses his duty.
