Iranian attacks in Jordan, two US soldiers killed

Two American service members were killed and another is missing this Saturday, marking the first American military deaths in the Iran war since March.

"On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action while U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. In addition, one service member is currently missing in action," U.S. Central Command said in a social media post.

Four other U.S. service members were evacuated for medical treatment at hospitals in Jordan. The other personnel suffered minor injuries and have returned to duty.

CENTCOM said it will keep the identities of fallen soldiers secret until 24 hours after their next of kin are notified.
