Crime officer physically assaulted in Saranda, police launch checks

A Saranda Police officer was raped on Thursday evening in neighborhood no. 3 of the city. He is Mihal Velço, an officer of the crimes sector at the Saranda Police Commissariat.

According to preliminary information, the officer was riding a motorcycle when he was initially insulted and threatened by several people. He then stopped the vehicle and got into a physical conflict with them.

The circumstances of the incident still remain unclear, but it is suspected that it was a momentary conflict and not a planned attack on the police officer.

Immediately after the incident, numerous police forces conducted searches in homes, businesses, and other areas, while several people were escorted to police stations for questioning.

So far, there are no reports of arrests, while investigations continue to identify the perpetrators and fully clarify the incident.
