US launches new attacks on Iran, Tehran targets US bases in Kuwait

The US launched a new wave of strikes against Iran on Wednesday, as President Donald Trump warned Tehran that it “has to behave better.” The US military said it had targeted Iranian military capabilities used to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

In turn, Tehran struck US military targets in the region, in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. Iran's chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, told state media that Tehran had "no reason" to implement the deal if it did not benefit from it.

Trump threatened late Tuesday to attack bridges and power plants if Iran did not return to talks next week.

Asked if he would give a deadline before doing so, he replied: "I don't like to give deadlines, but they more or less know, they know the history... they behave better."

The US president also expressed his belief that Iran will soon be defeated.

"We will soon defeat Iran. They will be defeated very quickly. They don't like what we are doing and they want to make a deal. We will find out if we make a deal with them or just end it," Trump said.
