Albania is experiencing one of the hottest days of the year today, with temperatures expected to reach up to 41 degrees Celsius. Meteorologist Tanja Porja warned this on Dita Jonë. According to her, today and tomorrow will be the hottest days of 2026, with extreme temperatures in almost the entire territory.

"Today and tomorrow we expect the hottest days of 2026 as we speak and there may be some hot days from the beginning of August. As hot as these days. However, today we expect a maximum of 41 degrees Celsius. 31 lowest maximum today in the deep mountainous areas in the southeast of the country. The rest of the mountainous area quite hot. Western areas 38-40 degrees Celsius."

Meteorology emphasized that maximum values ​​will fluctuate from 31 degrees Celsius in the deepest mountainous areas to 41 degrees in Elbasan, Berat and the Koplik area, while Tirana, Fier and Gjirokastra will register around 40 degrees.

"The coast appears quite hot and of course the most problematic situation is inland. We also have the northwest, Shkodra and mainly above Shkodra. Koplik is expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius today. We have Tirana with over 39 degrees Celsius and most likely even 40 degrees today in Tirana. Elbasan and Berat are expected to reach 41 degrees Celsius. Likewise Fier and Gjirokastra with at least 40 degrees."

The weather forecast also warned that a very hot Tuesday awaits us.

"In fact, this is the first day that marks 40-41 degrees. We expect tomorrow and two or three more very hot days to increase and temperatures will rise further from the morning minimum values. We have a three-day period from today and at least until Friday we will be in extremely high values."
