Historic innovation in the World Cup, FIFA awards champions rings like in the

The 2026 World Cup will bring an unprecedented change in the history of FIFA tournaments. For the first time, the team that is declared world champion will not only receive the prestigious trophy and gold medals, but also special champions' rings.

This tradition, known for years in American sports such as the NBA, NFL and MLB, will now also become part of international football.

The rings will be presented to the winning team after the grand final of the 2026 World Cup, where Spain and Argentina will face off on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

FIFA has decided to produce a total of 2,026 rings, in a symbolic reference to the year of this World Cup. Of these, 30 rings will go to the players and technical staff of the champion team, while the rest will be sold as official products for fans.

The design of the rings will include the World Cup trophy engraved on one side, while the other side will bear the identifying elements of the winning national team. Each ring will be personalized, individually numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

After the final, the captain and coach of the champion team will receive symbolic versions of the rings during a celebration ceremony. The official rings will then be personalized and presented to the players and staff at a special ceremony.
