Assassination of Thimjo Rubati, abandoned motorbike may lead to identification

Saranda police, after conducting checks in the "Baba Rexhepi" neighborhood, the area where the perpetrators headed after the assassination attempt on 50-year-old Thimjo Rubati, have found an abandoned motorcycle.

The motorcycle was found by the sea, in one of the bays in the area, precisely in the area called "Kassollja". Police suspect that the motorcycle belongs to the perpetrators of the Friday evening attack.

It showed no signs of damage or burning, which could help the investigation team collect genetic material to identify the perpetrators. The fact that the engine was found on the seashore has led the investigation team to suspect that the perpetrators fled by boat or hid in the apartments in the suburban area.

The assassination attempt on Thimjo Rubati was allegedly planned and the organizer deliberately exploited the event of the previous day when his son had a conflict with a police officer, with the aim of confusing the investigation.

There is even information that the perpetrators knew that the police had seized the DVR of the area's cameras the night before, taking advantage of this fact to carry out the incident in an area not covered by cameras.

So far, sources indicate that there are two main lines of investigation, one is a property conflict and the other a personal conflict for other reasons. The investigative group is uncertain about motives for settling scores or revenge, as the evidence is minimal.
