Zhulali: EU 2026 Report Seals the Failure of "Renaissance", the Rule

DP leadership member Ilda Zhulali has reacted to the European Commission's report on the rule of law and justice.

According to her, 'after 14 years of uninterrupted power, 'Renaissance' not only failed to bring about the rule of law, but its very destruction in the most theatrical form possible'.

Ilda Zhulali's full reaction:

The EU 2026 report on the rule of law in Albania shows with the severity of the facts what the reforms of Rlindja 1.0 have produced.
Whoever reads it, understands that after 14 years of uninterrupted power, 'Rilindja' not only did not bring the rule of law, but its own destruction in the most theatrical form possible.
9 years of vetting, 456 dismissals, but still 'effective judicial prosecution of cases with criminal elements remains limited.' The vetting was the most expensive political spectacle in Albanian history, which is concluding with the fact that no one from the circle of Rilinda's power would be really affected.
The confiscation of assets shows the truth as it is. Statistics with arrests of all levels for corruption have led to 1.1 million euros seized and only 100,000 euros confiscated! So the system caught some names, but not the money. As Edi Rama publicly instructed Erion Veliaj, his patience should be 'strategic', because the loss would apparently be 'symbolic' only with a public embarrassment.
The State Police with over 5,500 complaints in one year, 444 criminal referrals, only 114 disciplinary measures, while the staff of the Supervisory Agency itself turns out to be linked to organized crime, as the spectacular murder in Rinas revealed. So we have a police that is no longer of the state or the citizen, but of the power that has become one with crime.
For the first time, the alarm is raised that the integrity of business 'requires special attention', certainly due to the massive penetration of crime money into the Albanian economy. It is also emphasized that corruption risks continue to be present especially in state and partially state enterprises, precisely where EU funds and digital/infrastructure procurement also pass.
State-owned enterprises, Rilindja's undeclared treasury, PPPs, concessions, digital and infrastructure procurement are the areas where the government has built its own enrichment network, now fully exposed in Brussels.
The Balluku case remains open. The EU says that the refusal to lift her immunity 'raised concerns regarding equality before the law'. But it also warns that the case will not be closed in silence, nor can it become a model for other cases, because the EU institutions themselves are keeping the file on her immunity and accountability open.
Media: Public advertisements without transparency, the market captured by businesses with political connections, and attacks on journalists constitute a serious concern, and are a guarantee sheet for censorship par excellence!
In short, this was the picture of 2026, in the 14th year of Rilindja 1.0, which produced the architecture of power captured and made one with organized crime!
