SP sues the CEC, due to the partial elections in Himare

The Socialist Party of Albania has sued the Administrative Court of Tirana, the Central Election Commission, this after the Regulatory Commission did not approve some procedural deadlines for the partial elections in Himara that will be held on August 4.

Today the lot will be drawn to determine the judging panel.

The object of the appeal is "Opposition to the non-making of a decision by the Regulatory Commission at the CEC, "On the approval of some procedural deadlines related to the partial elections for mayor in Himarë Municipality, which will take place on August 4, 2024".

Notice:

On 15.07.2024 at 12:00, in the premises of the Administrative Court of Appeal, at the address: Rr. "Ismail Qemali", Tirana, lots will be drawn to determine the panel of judges for the trial of Claim No. 3 Basic Reg. Dt. .12.07.2024 Registration, with:

PLAINTIFF: Socialist Party of Albania.

RESPONDENT: Central Election Commission.

OBJECT: - Objection to the non-decision by the Regulatory Commission in the CEC, "On the approval of some procedural deadlines related to the partial elections for mayor in Himarë Municipality, which will take place on August 4, 2024".

- The obligation of the Regulatory Commission in the CEC to immediately take a decision "On the approval of some procedural deadlines related to the partial elections for mayor in Himarë Municipality, which will take place on August 4, 2024".

For your information, the Regulatory Commission in the CEC appears to have disposed of Decision No. 2 Dt. 09.07.2024 "For the approval of some procedural deadlines related to the partial elections for mayor in Himarë Municipality, which will take place on August 4, 2024", in the content of which the note is also reflected:

"In implementation of point 3, article 20, of law no. 10019, dated 29.12.2008 "Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania", amended, the act did not receive the required number of votes to be considered approved" (3 of the members of the Regulatory Commission have voted for and 2 members have voted against ).
