Found dead in a reservoir, sentence given for the 4 murderers of Martin

The Korça Court has sentenced the 4 accused for the murder of Martin Çeço, who was found dead in a reservoir in the village of Kolanec, Maliq, in 2022.

The prosecution based its request for prison on the evidence provided by the defendants, seeking their conviction for the criminal offense of "Premeditated Murder".

Court sentences:

* Valter Mollaj: 25 years in prison

* Edlir Mollaj: 23 years in prison

* Martina Pajollari: 20 years in prison

* Blendi Angjo: 15 years in prison

Despite this decision, the defense has announced an appeal.

Martin Çeço was found drowned and thrown into a reservoir two days after losing contact with his family.

The police and the prosecution arrested several people as suspects, including cousins Valter and Edlir Mollaj, as well as their shepherd Bledi Angjo. According to the investigation, the cause of the crime was a relationship between the victim and Martina Pajollari, who allegedly ambushed Martin Çeço.

Despite the charges, the defendants' defense argued that there was insufficient evidence to link them to the incident and announced an appeal of the decision. According to the defense, no concrete evidence was presented to show that Valter and Edlir Mollaj committed the murder, and no materials were obtained from the company "Meta", where it was suspected that the victim and the alleged perpetrators may have had contact.
