Lost his life at the age of 72, the cause of death of Robbie Coltrane is known

Robbie Coltrane, the actor known for his role as Hagrid in "Harry Potter", passed away last week at the age of 72 and the cause of his death has recently been revealed. He died after suffering multiple organ failure, British media reports said. His death certificate also stated that he was suffering from sepsis, a lower respiratory infection and cardiac arrest.

The actor, who also starred in the James Bond films, was diagnosed with obesity and type 2 diabetes. The news of his death shocked people around the world as many colleagues and friends bid farewell. Coltrane's acting career included numerous film roles. The actor also had two children with sculptor Rhona Gemmell. The couple married in 1999 and separated in 2003.

The actor's career began in 1979 in the television series Play for Today, but he rose to fame in A Kick Up the Eighties, a BBC television comedy series that also starred Tracey Ullman, Miriam Margoles and Rik Mayall. He also appeared in the 1983 ITV comedy Alfresco, with Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Siobhan Redmond and Hugh Laurie.

By 1987 he had a leading role in Tutti Frutti, about the Scottish rock band The Majestics, which also starred Emma Thompson and Richard Wilson. Coltrane is survived by his children Spencer and Alice and their mother Rhona Gemmell and his sister Annie Rae.
