Sylvester Stallone admits that his only rival was Arnold Schwarzenegger
A rivalry that few knew existed has been confirmed, it has emerged that Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a strong professional rivalry. Both actors specialized in playing fighting characters on the big screen, with Schwarzenegger known for his work as The Terminator and Stallone for his portrayal of Rocky.

With the duo so iconic in their respective roles, even Mike Tyson was asked who would win in a boxing match between the two. In an interview with Mario Lopez, Tyson preferred Stallone because of his work as Rocky, who was a boxing character. Tyson explained:

"Stallone has actually fought people before, he actually boxes. I don't know if Arnold has actually fought before."

However, it turned out that the detailed explanation from Tyson's point of view was somewhat extraordinary, as was also made clear by the statements made in the new Netflix documentary about the life of Schwarzenegger. Stallone freely admitted that he always felt Arnold was the superior action hero. Stallone told Netflix that:

"He just had all the answers. The body and the strength. That was his character."

It was as if their respective film careers mirrored each other. They were both guys with a penchant for being physically tough, and as a result were inevitably compared to the other. In his admission in the Netflix documentary, Stallone made it clear that he believed he wasn't as strong as the Austrian, prompting further interesting debate about what would have happened if the pair had met in the boxing ring in their beginnings.
