EU firefighting aid sends 9 firefighting planes, 700 firefighters and 100

EU Crisis Management Commissioner Janes Lenarcic wrote on social media that Germany and Poland had provided 360 firefighters to fight the fires in Greece.

He said that the total aid provided by the EU to Greece is 9 firefighting planes, 700 firefighters and 100 vehicles, write the Greek media .

"Total EU aid to Greece amounts to 9 firefighting planes, 700 firefighters and 100 vehicles," said Janes Lenarcic, noting that seven other EU countries have already sent aid to Greece: Cyprus, Sweden, France, Romania, Czech Republic, Croatia and Spain.

A few days ago, the European Commission mobilized the EU civil protection mechanism to help Greece from fires.

The European Union Emergency Response Coordination Center is in constant contact with the civil protection authorities of the countries affected by the fires to closely monitor the situation and to channel EU assistance.
