Montenegro has supported the legalization of cannabis for medical purposes. The Civic Movement (GP) URA and the People's Socialist Party (SNP) have spoken out in favor of legalizing medical cannabis, although the initiative is opposed by the Movement for Change (PZP).

Local media report that the SDP will propose a law legalizing the use of cannabis oil for medical purposes.

URA said that, given that relevant studies have proven the effectiveness of marijuana and cannabis oil in limited quantities in the most serious pathological conditions of the body, but also in some psychological problems, they think it is right to legalize these substances for medical purposes. in Montenegro.

"Legalization of the use of these substances for medical purposes will regulate this area, which is already being made outside the legal flows in the gray area, without the supervision of experts, ie doctors, and will enable additional inflow of money into the state budget," said the spokesman. of URA Bojan Jevric for MINA.

He said that the text of the law should specify the dose that can be taken legally, under the supervision of a doctor.

BS spokesman Adel Omeragic said that the Ministry of Health and the Institute of Public Health, as professional institutions dealing with general public health, should assess how much the adoption of such an initiative will affect overall health.

"It is known that cannabis oil is used to alleviate many diseases, even the most serious ones, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. "As examples of countries that have already legalized cannabis oil, we have Croatia and northern Macedonia," he added.

Albania will legalize cannabis for medical purposes. This was stated by Prime Minister Edi Rama in April after the publication of the results of the National Council, according to which 61 percent of Albanians surveyed were in favor of legalizing cannabis for medical use.
