Great Britain goes to early elections, held on July 4

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has decided to hold early elections on July 4.

Foreign Secretary David Cameron fueled speculation when he cut short his trip to Albania earlier today and Defense Secretary Grant Shapps also delayed his flight to attend a NATO meeting in Lithuania, writes The Independent.

Ministers attended an emergency cabinet meeting at 4pm this afternoon and the Prime Minister is expected to address the nation at 5pm.

Mr Sunak spoke about an early election when asked by the SNP Westminster leader during today's PMQs.

"There will be general elections in the second half of this year", answered the prime minister.
