The narco-submarine with 2000 kg of cocaine was captured

The British Royal Navy seized 2,000 kg of cocaine from a narco-submarine and a high-speed boat. Authorities said the quantity of drugs was seized off the coast of the Dominican Republic on August 26 but arrived at the port on Monday.

The US Coast Guard, which escorted the vessels to port, said 11 people were arrested. The Royal Navy said it was the first time it had seized a narco-submarine.

According to the US Coast Guard, in addition to the narco-submarine in question, two other operations were carried out in the open sea and the seized cocaine reaches a market value of 40 billion pounds.

Since launching its mission in the Caribbean in December 2023, the Royal Navy's HMS Trent has carried out eight successful operations, seizing a total of 9,400kg of cocaine.
