Republican Scott Perry has stated that the FBI confiscated his cell phone.

Perry told Fox News that while traveling with his family, he was approached by three FBI agents who handed him a warrant and demanded he hand over his cell phone.

The seizure of the congressman's personal phone comes a day after FBI agents searched former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

"This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my attorney who would have arranged for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I am outraged – though not surprised – that the FBI under DOJ Merrick Garland would tap the phone of a sitting member of Congress. My phone contains information about my legislative and political activities, as well as personal/private discussions with my wife, family, constituents and friends. None of this is the government's business ," Perry said in his statement.
