Government of Hungary law against the promotion of homosexuality

The Hungarian government has proposed a bill banning the promotion of homosexuality among minors and in schools.

The bill would ban LGBT literature for people under the age of 18, including educational material and advertisements deemed to promote gay rights.

Several human rights groups denounced it, saying it was similar to Russian restrictions on LGBT activities.

The proposal is included in a government bill punishing pedophilia. She says young people under the age of 18 cannot be shown pornographic content, or any content that encourages gender reassignment or homosexuality, reports the Reuters news agency.

Hungary does not recognize homosexual marriages and restricts homosexual adoption.
