The head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, stated from the rostrum of the Assembly that an agreement has been reached between the 27 member states of the European Union, to hold next week the First Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the EU.

Balla stressed that the holding of the first conference is already a fact, after reaching an agreement between the countries of the union.

"I asked for the floor to share important news regarding our journey towards EU membership which has to do with the fact that there is a full agreement between the 27 EU member states to hold next week the First Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and BE. It is an important moment, this after several hours of communications of the member parliaments. The Czech ambassador, with whom I had the opportunity to communicate, has just left. "Political agreement has already been reached and the holding of the Intergovernmental Conference next week is a fact" , added Balla.

Meanwhile, a little while ago, the French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia have reached a language of compromise between them to resolve the veto, in order to pave the way for the opening of negotiations for both Skopje and Tirana.
