Prime Minister Edi Rama is today in Prague, part of the GLOBSEC 2024 Security Forum, in the panel discussion with the Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen and the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, moderated by the well-known journalist Ali Aslan.

While focusing on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Rama said that Albania is the only country in Europe that has not visited Russia since 1990. 

"I must say that for us we grew up in a place where Prague and Washington were the same. We were told that both sides, American imperialism and Soviet social imperialism, are the same devil.

So we had to stick with Stalin even after Russia gave up Stalin. They learned the hard way that there is neither interest nor need to see Russia as our ally or partner as long as in Russia the dream of a certain variant of imperialism will not disappear. We are the only country in Europe that has not had any visits since 1990," said Rama, among other things. 

As it seems, the prime minister has chosen not to mention his visit together with the delegation that accompanied him, 4 years ago in Moscow, where he had a face-to-face meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov.
