The Socialist Party has resumed meetings with the diaspora. The next one announced is a meeting with Albanians in Rimini, Italy, on January 18, as is evident from the poster published by the Minister of State, Taulant Balla.

The latter, accompanied by the mayor of Durrës, will be the ones who will hold this meeting, but what stands out is an email sent by the CGIL Rimini Union to all Albanians with the right to vote abroad who are called upon to participate in a meeting.

The meeting is presented as an initiative to inform Albanians about their right to vote, but in reality it has a clear political purpose: securing electoral support for the SP. The email emphasizes that immigrants must register to vote for the first time from abroad, while mentioning the agreement on sold pensions as a recent achievement of the SP.

This case seems like another example of the use of the state for party interests, using immigrants as a means to secure votes in the upcoming elections.
