Discussions with closed doors, Gjekmarkaj: This day should be A in the alphabet

Democratic MP Agron Gjekmarkaj has described the table gathered today by Gazment Bardhi as a great day which should be marked as A in the alphabet of the unity of the opposition.

Gjekmarkaj emphasized in his speech that the opposition should follow society and not pretend that society will follow the opposition.

He appreciated that the unification should not be seen as the only success, but as a process based on the reason and expectations of the democrats and the Albanian society.

Agron Gjekmarkaj: Thank you Mr. Bardhi. I believe this is a day that has its symbolic value for the message it conveys. I am not one of those who believe that union is the only success. Union is the minimum without which nothing can be started. The merger is not, nor should it be, a process of either revenge or grudges. It should be a process of thinking about the reason and the expectations that the democrats and the Albanian society have.

I have a big problem with the way PD communicates with the public and society. I believe that the opposition should follow society and not pretend that society follows it. If we do not understand this essence we go around ourselves and make rhetoric just to fill our time. I think that this is a good day, we should be encouraged and we should continue to call A in the alphabet of the unity of the DP opposition.
