Berisha's request/ Parliament observes 1 minute of silence for Sami Repishti
The leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, upon returning to the Parliament, asked for 1 minute of silence for the prominent Albanian activist, Sami Repishti.
Berisha: These days, a colossus of Albanian intellectual thought, an invincible advocate of the national issue, an indomitable fighter against the communist dictatorship, a living martyr who experienced in the first years of the dictatorship the barbarities and the most inhumane tortures, professor Sami Repishti.
Professor Sami Repishti was among the most prominent Albanians in our diaspora and emigration.
His word and pen never failed to defend the national issue and national interest.
He, a staunch anti-communist, showed the whole world with his writings the true face of the post-war Albanian Hitler's regime, Enver Hoxha.
However, he made a contribution and his word was heard in all instances of the American state for the rights of Albanians occupied in Kosovo.
For all this, I invite the parliament to honor this outstanding man of the Albanian nation with a minute of silence.
