The Law "On Cultural Heritage and", Zhupa: Oppose Butrint-type

The Laws Commission discussed today the law "On Cultural Heritage and Museums", initiative of the democrat deputy Ina Zhupa.

Asked where the law and the Constitution are violated, Zhupa said that according to the judges of the Constitutional Court, the law does not have an explicit definition where it says that the state should be dominant over the private sector in foundations.

Zhupa said that it is the duty of the state to protect the wealth and national identity as well as heritage, as these foundations should be to help the state and donate money.

"What I want to do is that, with the will of all the deputies, we manage not to oppose the existence of foundations, because the Paris Convention allows this, but to oppose those foundations of the Butrint type, where the state is in minority position and has no opportunity to interfere in decision-making", said deputy Zhupa.
