Chief Democrat Sali Berisha reacted after the release of Jamarbë Malltez from prison and the imposition of the "house arrest" security measure.

Berisha said that Malltezi was a political prisoner and that everything was done after they had warned that the case would go to the Strasbourg Court.

"My son-in-law was a political prisoner, he received 410 square meters of land. It is not true that he gave orders or not, he would go to Strasbourg. Fortunately, Albania is a member of the Council of Europe.

He was not released from prison, he was placed under house arrest. There is none, zero. They themselves did not blame him, they failed to blame him.

They failed to find a proof and a document to file a lawsuit against him, but they have taken him under investigation. His trial will continue. This was done because they found nothing about him, the case will continue in Strasbourg" , declared Berisha.
