Easter/ Berisha to the Orthodox Church: Our priority is to resolve the property

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, visited the Orthodox Church in Kavaja this Sunday, where he congratulated all believers on the Easter holiday.

During his speech, opposition leader Sali Berisha stated that the new government after May 11 will have two priorities for religious communities, the first is doubling the fund for them and the second, the return of their properties, which have so far been abused and looted.

I am very honored and happy to be here with you today.

You rose from the ashes in very difficult conditions. We say what is, because atheist psychology is the most unfortunate psychology of man, which excludes man from some basic pillars of human consciousness.
So the devotion to God and to man made these institutions rise from the ashes and are a very powerful factor today, precisely not only, undoubtedly in spiritual nourishment and in the teachings of God's holy books, but they are also a powerful factor in what we call human compassion.
Because everywhere, their hand, the hand of churches, the hand of mosques, of tekkes, to those who are in the most impossible situation, is real in all possibilities.
I have stated before, what we will do, two things, we will try and do.
First, we will double the fund we have for religious communities, the budget fund. At that time, we had set a fund for religious communities in the budget and they allocated this fund themselves in their committee.
But this fund has remained where it was and we will double it, because it is necessary to double it.
Secondly, within this coming mandate, if Albanian citizens vote, we will finally solve the problem of properties with absolute priority for religious institutions, but also for all Albanians.
We have committed that in the next 4 years, the issue of properties will receive a final answer, thus engaging all the potential that the government has in all financial aspects, physical returns, physical compensations, but society must be separated from those injustices that have been created, very great.
They continue today, and unfortunately I want to say that the properties of religious communities are the first victims. They have plundered them, they have robbed them, but we will stand 100% with the greatest determination.
We have the issue of resolving property and the politically persecuted, society must at all costs separate itself from those injustices that have been committed in the past.
Justice must be done, the law must be made that recognizes them.

We are a nation with many problems, but we have a priceless treasure, and we have this priceless treasure first and foremost thanks to the wisdom, generosity of religious leaders who lead towards tolerance, understanding, cooperation, and this in fact, there are other nations that have several beliefs, but nowhere are they more in harmony than in Albania.
