Back to universities, Meta: Government, destructive steps to shrink auditors and control professors
The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has congratulated the students on the start of the new academic year.
In a reaction on Facebook, Neta writes that university life has been hit year after year by the Albanian government, taking destructive steps to shrink auditoriums and control professors.
METE'S REACTION
SUCCESS to students and teaching staff at the start of this new academic year.
Best wishes for new and greater achievements for all of you, as our eyes are directed to the universities of Albania, which should be the cradle of scientific thought, critical professional thought and all-round development.
Every citizen contributes to society by shaping it, but no one more than students. Students are the hope and the very future of Albania's social, economic and cultural transformation.
University life has been hit year after year, decision after decision, by the Albanian government. At a time when European countries support university education, scientific research, encouraging the expansion of professorships, the Albanian government has taken destructive steps to shrink auditoriums and control professors.
The thirst for knowledge of Albanian students and their extraordinary talent to cross borders fills us with optimism for the change of Albania, which is enriched by new educated generations, ready to be the new generation of economists, engineers, doctors and leaders of our state.
We must all do everything together for academic freedom, for reducing the costs of university education and increasing the funds that go from the state budget for the professional and scientific training of the new generation.
To be a strong and uncompromising alliance in the face of the arrogance of the government, which has made young people and students think the most about emigration, and to revive hope for an Albania that responds to the rhythm of the legitimate ambitions of its students.
Finishing every step towards knowledge!
