Tabaku: The budget as the coffers of oligarchs from pensioners
The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has criticized the minimum increase in pensions over the last few years, emphasizing that in a period of 11 years, the old age pension has increased by only 3000 ALL. In a statement made through a video, she noted that, while pensioners face an increase in the prices of food and services, the government has dedicated 15 million euros to change budget funds for concessions, following complaints from companies about the increase in prices.
"Today, 700,000 pensioners are suffering in the most difficult economic conditions, but the government has not taken any decision in their support," said Tabaku. She also emphasized that government decisions favor a privileged minority and neglect the majority of citizens. With the lowest pensions and salaries in the Western Balkan region, Tabaku described the country's economic situation as fragile, highlighting the devaluation of the euro and the minimal growth of the economy.
According to Tabak, 95% of citizens are forced to pay more for the same services and products, but receive less benefit from price increases, accusing the government of not supporting the middle class and the most affected classes.

3000 ALL, the old-age pension has been increased in 11 years. 15 million euros only changing the budget fund for the concessions only because they complained about the high prices. What about these pensioners who only get an increase of 50 lek per month in pension, don't they suffer from the high prices? Don't they pay more for food prices that are the highest in the entire region? They don't pay more for the water bill that is going up, don't they pay more for all the services that have gone up? Why does the Government and every decision it takes take it in the function and support of the minority and never the majority?
Today, 700,000 pensioners are suffering the most difficult conditions. Who thinks about them? If there was a fair decision that the Government would take with the recent changes in the budget, it would be precisely the support for all social classes and of course the missing support for the middle class. Pensions are the lowest in the Western Balkans, wages are the lowest in the Western Balkans, economic growth is the lowest, the devaluation of the euro is affecting the economy. These are all factors that have led to today, decision after decision, budget after budget, 95% of citizens pay more but receive less. This is the real growth of the Albanian economy.
