Tabaku in the Bundestag: European integration should be for Albanians, not

The next conference regarding the Berlin Process is being held in Berlin.

Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku requested that the integration process leave the government bureaucracy and address the citizens.

She emphasized that this is not a theoretical process, but a practical one, and Albanians want to see real changes.

According to Tabak, a comprehensive electoral reform is essential to ensure free and transparent elections, as recommended by the OSCE-ODIHR for more than ten years.

She criticized the government's reluctance to implement these reforms, which has hindered Albania's progress in meeting EU standards.

Tabaku also highlighted the issue of widespread corruption, describing it as "a thorn in the side" of Albanian society.

Concluding her speech, Tabaku asked for the respect of democratic principles, the promotion of cooperation and the work for an Albania ready for EU membership.

"The opposition must be treated as a partner in democracy, not as an adversary," she declared.
