Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku has accused the government of manipulating public opinion through propaganda regarding electricity prices in Albania.

In a post on social media, Tabaku has debunked the government's claims of price reductions, emphasizing that the facts show the opposite.

"According to data, the price of electricity in Albania has increased and not decreased, contrary to what the government claims. In 2013, the price was 7.4 lek/kWh, while today it is 8.5 lek/kWh. How can this be called a decrease?" - writes Tabaku.

She also stressed that while 22 other countries have reduced energy prices for their citizens, Albanians continue to pay more and more for a system that does not serve the public interest.

"This government is manipulating with propaganda, not with the reality of prices. Albanians are victims of an unjust system and a government that only serves the interests of the oligarchs," the Democratic MP emphasized.

Tabaku called on citizens and the media not to fall prey to government propaganda and to demand accountability for the dire economic situation in the country.
