6 killed in Greece, the Ministry of the Interior confirms: They are Turkish

The Albanian Ministry of the Interior has reacted after the massacre with 6 dead in Greece who were initially reported to be Albanian citizens.

In a statement, the ministry says that based on the information received from the Greek authorities, it has been confirmed that the victims belong to Turkish nationality.

"The Office of the Minister of the Interior has been following the event in Greece from the first moment and from the preliminary information from the Greek authorities we have been informed that the victims have Turkish citizenship with identity cards of an EU country", the ministry announces .

The Greek media said that several Albanian passports were also found inside the vehicle, which made the police initially declare that they were Albanians. The victims are Turks of Kurdish origin, and carried French identity cards.
