Arben Ristani in the race for the CEC, the deadline for the Regulatory

Tomorrow is the deadline for submitting candidacies for members of the Regulatory Commission to the Central Election Commission.

The process includes filling five vacant positions, after the mandates of the current members ended on October 5 and the Assembly officially declared the seats vacant.

So far, several candidacies have been submitted, including: Elga Vugaj, Dritan Cakaj, Ilirjana Nano, Shkëlqim Sulaj, Juliana Hoxha and Arben Ristani. The candidacies will be reviewed by a Special Commission, which will verify the documentation and fulfillment of legal criteria.

It is possible that the deadline will be extended by one day, to include applications that have been sent by mail. After review, the final list of candidates who will receive the "green light" will be submitted to the Assembly for a vote in plenary session.

The novelty in this race is the return of Arben Ristani, former chairman of the Central Election Commission. His possible selection is expected to spark discussions and debates on the legal process and preparations for the upcoming elections.
