Residents in Hamallaj have sewage poured near their houses, institutions: Informal area, we have no funds

Residents in Hamallaj have sewage poured near their houses, institutions:

The residents of Hamallaj in Durrës complained to Fiks Fare that the discharge of sewage near their houses has become a problem for years and that they have not found a solution in any institution to which they have complained.

They show that you were promised that measures will be taken and that very soon there will be an intervention to fix them, but so far they have not made any fix.

Residents, among whom there were elderly people, said that the smells caused by the spilling of these waters have also affected their health. Not to mention the high temperatures. They told Fiksi that they are forced to stay at home just because of this problem, especially during the summer season, where according to the citizens, it is the peak of their outbreak and the smell becomes unbearable.

In addition to the successive complaints that they have made to their unit, they have also addressed this institution with a written request and forwarded it through the chief of the area several times. The journalists of the Fiks Fare show were interested in the Sukth Administrative Unit where they met the administrator of this unit, Edlir Cerri.

Cerri states that he has not received any complaint regarding this problem, but then he claims that this complaint was delegated to him through the village headman. But it was not taken into account, since this request had to be made in writing.

But the person in charge of the archive in the presence of the administrator denies that these complaints were made and even recorded. The residents have even been told that a sewage project is needed in the area.

Afterwards, Cerri changes his stance, admitting that some complaints have been made by the residents and that some requests have been made by the unit he leads. He even added that this will be a new project for 2024 and that they are waiting for an answer.

Fiksi also took an interest in Durrës Water and Sewerage, where he explains that there are no funds to build a sewerage network, as the area is informal. Also in their answer they said that they have found that the illegal interventions of the residents have blocked the drains.

UKD in response explains that the residents should have solved it with septic tanks. As for UKD for this area, it is only responsible for the supply of drinking water, "washing its hands" of the responsibility for the treatment of waste water. And why this waste water endangers the lives of the residents, no one thinks about solving it, but everyone shrugs their shoulders. top channel
